Acne

Despite the jokes, no matter how well-meaning, or suggestions to just ignore it, no matter how well-intentioned, it cannot be denied by anyone who has suffered from acne that it is a serious problem. In exploring this topic, you can see how your life might be affected, and, looking into the future, see what may be done about it.

Acne is an inflammation of the skin, caused by an abnormal response to normal levels of testosterone. This occurs most commonly in puberty, when the human body kicks into chemical overdrive and the oil glands go into high production and subsequently block off the pores in the skin. Any dirt trapped in the blocked pores can be a real breading ground for bacteria and indeed pores can become infected. This lesion can become swollen and then pop, forming an unsightly sore.

With the sudden addition of estrogen and testosterone to a previously stable system, it is no wonder that the body starts overcompensating for the new hormones. The inflammation of acne leads to acne lesions that appear mostly on the face, but can actually appear anyone on the body. One reason suggested for the appearance of acne is genetics: many teenagers with acne have parents who once suffered in the same way.

There is no denying how traumatic having acne can be, whatever your age and although especially common in teenagers, there is a significant proportion of the population that suffer from acne as adults. However, you can do more than just ignore it; you can get rid of it!

One way to take care of the acne is through good hygiene. This is especially true if your body is going through a difficult phase right now; remember to keep your skin exfoliated, either chemically or by hand and this may help to make sure that your pores do not become infected.

Another way to take care of acne is get a use benzoyl peroxide. Products that contain this substance include acne gels or creams, which can prevent further breakouts by killing the bacteria that causes acne in the first place. However, do be careful with your use of benzoyl peroxide as it can badly dry out your skin, which can make the acne worse.

While it is known that sunlight will help lessen acne to a certain degree, it could also be dangerous as we now know that UV rays in sunlight can also cause other damage to the skin. One solution to this is the use of blue and red light forms. When these specially built lights are used on the problem areas on a daily basis, the lesions from acne can recede by up to 6%. Red and blue light promote the production of free-moving molecules that attack the bacteria that cause acne pimples.

In this day and age, there is no reason to suffer in silence, or even suffer at all! If you do have acne, it is simply a problem to be solved. Go ahead and look at the options available to you, such as a futuristic bath in blue light or an effective exfoliating cream or gel.

The Importance of Male Skin Care

Men's skincare is similarly crucial as women's skin care as both are adversely affected through age and a mixture of factors. Though numerous men are at present practicing skin care routines day by day, others have no awareness that men's skin care is important not just for cosmetic purposes, but also for all-purpose health.

The skin is the biggest organ that might defend the body against germs, diseases and various kinds of condition. Because of this, women and men's skin care are equally crucial.

Men's skins are thicker and firmer than women's skin because of the larger amounts of elastin and collagen in their skin. Regrettably, men's skins are extra inclined to oiliness and dryness.

For this reason, men's skin treatment regimens must incorporate deep sanitization to keep their pores wholesome, vigorous and moist. In the main, men have a tendency to sweat more, which results in oilier and larger pores. The skin's aging process is generally the same regardless of sex. The only variance is that skin aging for men starts later on.

Because the male dermis contains extra collagen, their skin generally becomes oilier. Hence, men's skin care products should contain ingredients that could help counterbalance the skin.

When skin ages for men, collagen reduces while the skin thins down. When this occurs, their skin becomes more inclined to deep wrinkles. On the other hand, men's skin care products can help fight and inhibit the signs of aging, just as they do for women.

Daily shaving is the primary reason why a male's skin dehydrate easily. To put a stop to this, you could ask for men's skin treatment products for shaving that are best for your skin category, whether dry or delicate skin.

Whereas you might buy shaving creams designed for men's skin care, you can additionally use moisturizers after shaving. This will protect the skin from dryness and further skin blemishes.

Given that the skin can protect you against muck, radical climates, sun exposure and other factors that cause premature aging of the skin and skin problems, it is important to abide by a skincare routine for men.

Men are not in general open to using skin care products of distinct kinds. Because of this, men's skin care regimens must be kept easy. However, two crucial procedures must be incorporated in men's skincare routine -- purification and moisturizing.

While deep purification keeps your pores unclogged, which might put off hives and supplementary skin conditions, moisturizing can help in preventing the skin from drying out. By integrating these two procedures into your daily habit, you can guarantee an effective skincare for men.

Coping With A Cat Allergy

Most people love to own cats and dogs, but unfortunately, many people are also allergic to such animals. If you think that you've suddenly developed a cat allergy, make sure you do your homework before blaming symptoms on your four-legged, furry friend.

The only way you can find out for sure if you're suffering from a cat allergy, whether it's longhaired or shorthaired, is to take a specific test given by your physician. While at the doctor's office, your physician will also ask you a number of questions such as your family history, your past history of allergies and how long you've been feeling particular symptoms such as watery eyes, itching, sneezing, among other more serious complaints.

Then, the physician will more than likely perform what's called a skin-prick test or an intracutaneous test. These two tests will determine whether you are suffering from a cat allergy. The first involves pricking the skin with a needle dipped in allergen extract, while injecting a small amount of the allergen extract just beneath the skin surface completes the second. If skin shows signs of reddening or swelling, it's likely that you're allergic to cats, or whatever other allergen the doctor is testing you for.

After you've been diagnosed with a cat allergy, it's important to figure out what it is about the cat that makes you allergic. Is it the fur, urine, or their saliva? Most people who are allergic to cats are allergic to their saliva, but keeping licking tongues away from your face or hands won't do the trick. Because a cat grooms its fur every day with its tongue, deposits of its saliva coat their fur, which when dry, leaves the dry, invisible allergens behind.

Not only do these allergens stick to the cat's fur, they also become airborne as the cat moves throughout the house, floating through the air to land on carpeting, furniture, clothes and every other exposed surface. About the only way to prevent suffering from a cat allergy at this point is to find your cat another home, but for some this is a drastic, and unacceptable decision. If you own a beloved cat that you suddenly develop an allergy to, stock up on allergy relief medications, if possible, and try to keep the cat isolated to one or two rooms of the house, but most especially out of your bedroom and off of your bed. Giving your cat a weekly bath may also relieve symptoms, though your cat may not like that very much.

Even when a cat is given away however, the allergen may remain in the household for months. When suffering from a cat allergy, and you've decided to give away your pet, make sure that someone shampoos carpets and furniture that can hold onto the cat allergens. A cat allergy doesn't mean you have to get rid of your cat, though it may be the best solution, especially among older people, and while not easy, a cat allergy isn't easy to live with either.

How To Avoid Bad Habits And Stress That Can Worsen Your Acne

Acne and pimples are synonymous skin problems that can occur on your skin, especially on your face. But you can also have either chest or back acne or both. Do you know that not only teenagers suffer from acne? Adults do suffer from acne too.

Like all other health problems prevention is usually better than cure. The habit of cleansing your skin properly is the most necessary acne prevention measure. This does more than clean off dirt, bacteria, and other unwanted materials, it also gets rid of excess oils from your skin and prevents acne breakout.

Hey, be careful not over wash your skin, because it could result to dry irritated skin. Use gentle toilet soap for your bath and an acne cleanser for your face. You can find several brands of acne cleaners in your neighborhood pharmacy.

Avoid pimple popping, it is a bad habit you must not get into because it could be hard to break, and it brings about chronic painful acne. Even though pimple popping may seem to you to be getting ride of your pimples, they really make your condition worse. What pimple popping actually does is push deeper into your skin pus filled bacteria, which cause you more irritation than cure your acne.

If you have acne or does not want to have acne you must stay relaxed always. Stress aggravates acne breakout in people who do not have acne, because stress forces your body to release acne causing chemicals.

Sleep is the best antidote against stress, so get plenty of sleep after eating a balanced diet.
I know that life today prompts stress for most people, but you must make every effort to keep factors that bring about stress out of your life.

Skin Mole Removal - A Mountain or a Mole Hill?

A skin mole is a spot on the skin that is usually round or oval in shape. The skin mole can vary in size and it may appear pink, brown, red, or black in colour. Virtually everyone has at least a few moles. Statistically you will have between 10-50 moles on your body and these can occur on any part of your skin. For most people, the fact that they have moles on their skin does not raise issue because it is common to everyone. However, as moles can appear anywhere on the skin, there are of course some cases (me included) where moles are always visible i.e. on the face or neck and again this may not be an issue, as these are sometimes referred to as beauty spots or beauty marks. However, I never referred to the two moles that I had on my face in this way, instead I agonized over the decision to have them removed. To be honest the option of a surgical procedure did not appeal to me at all. For these reasons:

- There will be some pain to endure at some point during or after the operation.

- The cost involved.

- The quite high chance of some scarring.

The fact that I really wanted my moles removed meant that I would have considered enduring the pain and would have found a way to pay for it, but I could not choose the surgery option because I wanted my moles removed and not replaced by a scar of unspecified size and ugliness.
As this removal method was not an option for me I began to research natural mole removal and found that there are actually a lot of over the counter creams for this purpose, as well as formulas that can be created at home using all natural ingredients that cost a lot less then the medical procedure.

As these are all natural, in most cases they will not leave a mark on your skin and therefore seemed mush more appealing than any other methods. I eventually found the method that was right for me and I was able to remove my two moles safely and completely, so in my case it turned out to be a mole hill.

Help I Am Allergic To Kitties

If you are allergic to cats then you suffer from Allergies Type 1, also called Contact Allergies. If your skin comes into contact with cat dander or cat hair you immune system produces a violent reaction in an effort to eliminate something it considers harmful.

The main cause of cat allergy is caused by the allergens found in the cats skin. When the cat licks themselves, this sticky protein adheres to the cat hair. When the cat hair comes into contact with dust, clothing, furniture, curtains, or you, the protein will stick to the surface of the object. Even after the cat has been removed the allergens can remain for up to 4 years.

Cat allergen is so small that it can easily penetrate the bronchial membranes. It is about 10 times smaller than dust particles or pollen. Up to 1/3 of non-cat owners have the cat allergen on their clothing and in their home.

Male cats product more allergen that female cats and neutered cats product less that non-neutered and kittens product less allergens that adults animals do.

You need not have what you would consider a dirty house to suffer from dust and dander allergies. Some of the more common overlooked ideas for dust and dander management are as follows.

After you have vacuumed your carpets get down on your hands and knees, in a well lit room and slap the carpet with your hand. If you see dust rising into the air then you need a better vacuum cleaner. Most vacuums will blow the smaller particles of dust back into the air through the exhaust. You will need to get a vacuum that has some type of HEPA filter that traps microscopic particles of dust from being blown back into the air.

Ceiling fans not only trap dust and dander on top of the fan blades but will also stirs up any dust and dander in the area when turned on. Clean them weekly and if you must use them be sure to have a good HEPA type of Air Purifier in the area.

Run the vacuum over all curtains every week and wash them in the washing machine ever couple of months. You will also need to use a lint remover, the sticky tape type, to remove all of the cat hair stuck on the bottom of the curtains. If you have curtains that require dry cleaning, replace them because the chemicals used during the cleaning process can lead to problems with someone who has allergies or asthma.

Cats are known for being clean animals, yet I have never had another animal that sheds more hair than my cat. I believe those vile and evil creatures called dust bunnies live on cat hair. I have never had a larger infestation of dust bunnies as when I had a cat. They are sneaky little buggers and they multiply like - well like rabbits. Do all you dusting with a damp cloth. Using a dry cloth will only stir up the dust and dander into the air.

Most of us believe that are kitchen is the cleanest room in the house. My cat likes to sleep on top of the kitchen cabinets. When was the last time you cleaned on top of the kitchen cabinets? If you haven't cleaned up there in a while it will not be a pretty site.

As a last resort you could get a pet rock or hope for a vaccine.

Always consult your doctor before using this information.

The Benefits Of Salon Hair Care

For most of us, taking care of our bodies is a natural part of our day. We've been bombarded with the messages that tell us that diet, exercise, and taking care of ourselves on a number of different levels can result in increased healthy and vitality – and we've heeded the advice, heading to the gym and watching what we eat. But part of caring for ourselves includes taking care of the outside; how we look says a lot about who we are and putting care and attention into our hair, clothes, makeup, and overall grooming can make the difference in how people perceive us and, most importantly, how we feel about ourselves. Taking care of your hair, especially, will go a long way towards setting the tone for your overall style and pulling together a look that's uniquely you. And when it comes to making sure you look your best, salon hair care is paramount to healthy and attractive hair.

Salon hair care simply means the frequent visiting of a salon and professional hair stylist to ensure that your hair is healthy. Healthy hair is beautiful hair and there is no getting around this simple fact. For some, trimming their hair at home has become part of their routine. But a professional hair stylist can offer a level of expertise that will ensure that you have the hairstyle – and color - that looks best on you. And most important to remember is that salon hair care does not have to mean expensive hair care.

There are many high-end salons today that offer superlative service with expensive price tags. Depending on where you live, it is always possible to find hair salons that offer just as quality salon hair care at a much lower price and the answer lies in overhead. Look for smaller salons that have fewer stylists and are located just a little bit off the beaten path. It's a simple equation; when their rent is cheaper your salon hair care is cheaper.

Salon hair care will mean a professional cut and style along with a thorough shampoo and conditioning treatment. If you have particularly dry hair then salon hair care is imperative to maintaining a healthy level of moisture in your hair.

When it comes to color, salon hair care is the way to go in order to find the color that is right for you skin tone. More than anything, color that is not done professionally can go horribly wrong. Stick with the experts when it comes to coloring – and caring for - your hair; you won't be sorry.

Is Plastic Surgery The Answer

Plastic Surgery

There are a lot of good and bad things you could say about plastic surgery. I don't know how I feel about it because I don't want any at this point in my life, but I think if it is something you want to do, you should go for it. Just make sure you don't turn it into a habit. If there is something about your face that bothers you, why should you have to live with it if you don't want to? There are those who go back for more and more, but they have deeper issues than just what they look like. If you have a flaw and want it gone, you should go for it if you can afford it.

I have a friend who is going to get plastic surgery on her nose. She has a bump and it drives her mad. She is a beautiful girl and I don't think the bump detracts from her looks at all, but it's not my nose. She will get it done if she wants to. She's a good person inside and out, so I don't worry about her doing it for the wrong reasons. She's going to have her plastic surgery soon and I am behind her all the way.

If you really want to get some plastic surgery, you should do a lot of research into it before you make up your mind. Think about what you want to have done and find out what the cost might be before you go too far. You may not be able to afford plastic surgery, and in most cases it is not something that your insurance will cover. They may cover reconstructive plastic surgery after an accident, but they probably won't cover it if it is for cosmetic issues.

The most important thing you should consider about plastic surgery is the doctor you choose to do the operation for you. You should make sure you find the very best. If someone makes a mistake, you are going to have to live with it for a long time to come, or at least until you can afford for someone to fix it. Plastic surgery is as much an art as it is a skill, and you want someone who can see what you want to do, and can do it without scaring. They should have a good track record and they should be able to show you many examples of their work.

The Top 5 Natural Allergy Cures

Medicine Saved My Life, But Herbs and Environmental Changes Cured Me Of Allergies

I love modern medicine. It saved my life many times when I had asthma. So I'm not here to knock medicine. I just believe (from my own experience) that despite incredible breakthroughs and heroics in medicine sometimes they simply fail to look for the cause. Such was my experience on my path of curing allergies and asthma from my body.

I was amazed that my doctors had no interest in finding out, or even hearing about what I had done to get rid of asthma. And I don't believe their disinterest was because it would threaten their occupation. I just think their training and conditioning was not about looking for a cure, but only in treatment.

Searching

At age 18 I gave up on the drugs and shots. I still took the drugs as needed, and used an inhaler when needed, but I quit seeing my allergist. I decided to see what Chirporactors and Nutritionists could possibly offer. This led to reading books on nutrition, and I tried all the following:

Herbs, cell salts, vitamins, minerals, apple cider vinegar, raw goats milk, protomorphogens (from animal parts), and a host of other things I took. That was in the day when Health Food stores were for wierdos.

After many failed herb, vitamin, and natural experiments While I felt healthier the allergies and asthma were still a part of my life. I decided to accelerate my search.

The following approach worked for me:

5 Steps To Getting Rid of Allergies

The way I rid myself of asthma and allergies involved 5 things:

#1 A clean Liver - The liver, when toxic, can overproduce histamines, causing a hyper-sensitive and over-reactive immune response. There are Liver herbs, and some juices, which can detox the liver of the toxins and additional histamines

#2 A clean diet - Keeping inflammation down by reducing sugars, starches and refined foods keeps the body from over-reacting to allergens and immune system threats.

#3 Avoidance - Avoiding Cats, Dogs, and Allergens while I took the oethr 4 steps also allowed my immunity to rebuild itself.

#4 A clean bedroom - allergy resistant sheets, pillowcases, and keeping my room free of dust mites, mold, and bacteria. This way my immune system would rest at night instead of working all night against the environment. By the way it's the dust mites excrement, not the dust mites themselves, that cause the allergic reactions when inhaled. Change your pillow to a synthetic (mites don't like it) and buy a new one every 9-12 months.

#5 A clean environment -By far the easiest step this meant finding an air purifier, one that kills viruses and bacteria (with UV), absorbs pollen (HEPA), picks up pollution (ion) and can kill mold and mildew (timed ozone is best) to allow the immune system to recover each night, reducing allergic responses.

Not really that tough when you take the steps above. Once your body and immunity is rebalanced you might find as I did that I was able to eat as I wish, withouitb any allergic response.

How To Apply Eye Makeup

The same basic steps are used when you apply eye makeup, whether you go for nude makeup or the seductive, smoky eye look. You change your look by your choice of colors. Go for natural colors, close your your skin tones for that nude makeup look, something rosier if you want to look radiant, something more golden, or with metallics if you want glamour, or darker, smoky colors for the smoky eye look.

Decide on your look. Pick three colors for your eyeshadow.

  • A light shade for the highlights. This could be a pearl-like shimmer, a very light metallic, or simply a very pale color.

  • A medium shade which would be the main color you would use.

  • A dark shade for the shadows.

  • Applying the eye makeup

    • Apply your foundation first over your entire face before you start on your eye makeup. You need a good canvas to work with.

    • Apply an eyeshadow primer from lash to brow to make your eye makeup last. You can skip this step if you prefer.

    • Using a makeup brush or eyeshadow sponge, apply the medium shade from lashes to the crease of your eyelid.

    • Draw a line as close to your upper lashes as possible with your eyeliner, from inner corner, to the outer corner of your eye. For smoky eyes, draw a thick line. Use an eye pencil to darken your lower lash line as well.

    • Using the edge for your eyeshadow brush, or with an eyeliner brush, go over this lash line with the dark eyeshadow.

    • Apply the dark eyeshadow into the crease of your eyelid to deepen your eyes.

    • Use the light color on the brow bone to highlight your eyes.

    • Apply the light shadow from lash to crease at the center of your eyelid.

    • Go over the entire eyelid lightly with a large brush to blend the colors.

    • Apply mascara on your upper and lower lashes

    Food Allergy

Just what is a food allergy? Some people mistake that having a food allergy means that the food is bad for them. In one sense of the word it is, however having a food allergy simply means your immune system mistakes certain foods as being harmful. The immune system is designed to fight off harmful germs and such but with a food allergy; it sometime gets out of balance.

How do you know if you have a food allergy? Symptoms of a food allergy can be much like symptoms of other allergies. You may break out in hives, your skin can be quite itchy, red and splotchy and even your tongue and lips can begin to swell.

There is a condition called anaphylaxis that can occur if you have a serious food allergy reaction that can cause your tongue and throat swell to the point that you may not be able to swallow and possibly cut off your air supply. Should you suspect or experience this sort of food allergy, you should seek medical attention immediately.

The most common reactions with a food allergy are hives and itchy skin. Though not life threatening these food allergy reactions are very uncomfortable. If you do have a food allergy reaction, try to make note of any food you have eaten that is different than what you eat on a regular basis. This is one way to determine what food allergy you may have and avoid those foods in the future.

If you are unable to determine which foods you may be allergic to, you may want to consult with your doctor or one that specializes in food allergies. You may simply have a food intolerance rather than a food allergy.

The normal way a doctor will determine which food allergy you may have, is to take a liquid extract of several foods that may be the culprits, and make a small scratch in the skin then place a drop of this extract on the scratch itself. Where the skin turns red and reacts to the extract, the doctor will know which food allergy you may have.

When the doctor finds out which food allergy you have, he can then determine which treatments will work the best. You will also know which food allergy you have and can avoid these foods in the future.

In most cases a food allergy is not life threatening and can be treated by avoiding the food or with mild medications. Unless you have severe food allergies, you can try to eliminate certain foods until you no longer have an allergic reaction to these foods.

It is important to note that if you do have a serious reaction and suspect you do have a food allergy, do not hesitate to seek medical advice.

Acne- The Quick Solution For Effectively Getting Rid Of Acne

The second step to getting rid of acne for the long run is helping your body's skin with any topical treatments you can provide. The skin is the main organ for the elimination of toxins from the body. Topical treatments will help in keeping the pores open thereby helping the body eliminate toxins even faster. In addition it can also help kill harmful bacteria on the skin which lead to acne. It is best though to avoid chemical topical treatments as much as possible. Instead you can use a herbal steam bath or if you choose skin brushing. You can also try herbal lotions as they help kill acne causing bacteria on the skin.

Lastly to get rid of acne and keep acne from reappearing it is best to change ones lifestyle even if it is done gradually. The first two methods mentioned will clear acne if implemented but this last step will help to prevent the reemergence of acne. It is important to gradually eliminate the unhealthy substances in your lifestyle where the biggest culprit is your diet. A healthier diet which does not involve too much sugar, fat based and greasy foods, excess caffeine and lack of sufficient rest is best and most helpful. While a change in lifestyle is important it is best to go gradually with this step as it is most often the hardest to accomplish.

Fight Allergies With Vitamins And Over The Counter Products

Allergies are abnormal reactions to normally harmless substances. The allergens can be inhaled, swallowed or come into contact with the skin.

Allergens that most frequently cause problems are: pollen, mold, dust, foods, animal dander, insect bites, insect spores, viruses and bacteria.

Normally the human body learns to defend itself though experience. That is by attacking a foreign substance that has invaded and harming the body by producing antibodies. The best know of these antibodies are called histamines. Some times the immune system mistakenly recognizes a foreign to be harmful when it is not. This can lead to the overproduction of histamines specially designed to destroy the specific foreign substance.

If the overproduction of the histamines is large enough the surrounding tissue is also damaged resulting in sneezing, a stuffy head, sniffing, stuffed-up head, read and watery eyes or a skin rash.

A person with Allergies is burdened with an overprotective immune system and is forever on guard against everyday things that don't bother the rest of us. It might be a cute affectionate kitten, a patch of green grass, to a slice of fresh garden tomato.

Some of us can roll in poison ivy and come out without any problems, while others can merely brush up against a few leaves of the stuff and there are scratching for weeks. In most cases, allergies are more annoying that debilitating but to the extreme allergy suffers life can be pure misery or even death.

There are four main types of Allergic Reactions:

    Type 1.

Foods, mold, animal dander, pollen, or dust can cause an immediate allergy attack. Whey your body responds to the invasion, your body releases histamine from the irritated area such as the skin, nasal and bronchial areas.

    Type 2.

Allergens combine with healthy cells in the your body and attack the health cells. This is common in upper gastro intestinal tack.

    Type 3.

Allergens invade the immune system and can cause injury to cells throughout the body.

    Type 4.

T-cells become activated and results in an inflammation of the effected area. An example of this is a rash caused by poison ivy.

We all carry a heavy load of various stress factors that slowly wear out our immune systems, over the years, making us more susceptible to allergy attacks. We are exposed to many more environmental pollutants and industrial toxins that ever before in history.

Treating Eczema - Diagnosis and Tests for Eczema Detection

When the symptoms of eczema show up on your skin, it is essential to schedule a visit with the doctor to establish what the problem is. General medical testing will help to identify whether your skin condition is actually eczema or something else.

An early diagnosis of eczema is usually made founded on what the skin looks like. Select areas of the body are considered to be eczema-sensitive areas, for example the face, the chest and skin creases. When skin in these areas of the body is itchy, swollen red, or dry, this will lead doctors to believe eczema is the cause.

    Medical History

Doctors will want to talk about other aspects of the patient's life in order to form an improved idea of what is going on. Other items that need to be considered are a patient's dietary habits, family history, lifestyle, allergies, medications the patient is now taking and any chemicals or hazardous materials the patient is exposed to in their home environment or workplace.

The range of other information a patient should share with his or her physician takes in such thing as, when the skin condition made its first appearance; all of the condition's symptoms, circumstances where the skin condition worsens, like high stress, excess sweating or dry air.

    Bloodwork

If a doctor conjectures that the skin condition is due to some allergen, then he or she will order a blood test to check for antibodies in the blood. If eczema is the cause of the symptoms, then the patient's blood will show a raised "IgE", also known as eosinophilia.

Blood sometimes additionally has to undergo a test known as a Radioallergosorbent Test (RAST) or Paper Radioimmunosorbent Test (PRIST). This test mixes the blood separately with an assortment of different allergens, then antibody levels are carefully measured. Blood that is shown to have a great deal of antibodies in it means that there is for sure an allergy to some specific trigger.

    Skin Patch Test

Certain physicians will order a specialized test called a skin patch test. For this, when something is suspected to be an irritant to the skin, it is pressed to the skin, then held there with an adhesive patch. A second adhesive patch without anything on it is also applied as a baseline for comparison. Patches are left in place for anywhere from one day to two days. After that, they are removed and the skin underneath is scrutinized. If the skin is red, itchy or inflamed then probably it is the suspected irritant that the patient has allergies to.

Back Acne and Acne Scars - Causes and Cures

Truth be told, it would be very, very surprising if some person has never, ever have had to deal with the problem of acne. Hundreds of millions of people all over the world have to deal with acne everyday. Some people have very mild acne that can hardly be noticed, while others have a lot more severe case of acne. But what's possibly a lot more surprising is that even though such a large percentage of the population have had to endure acne from several centuries, there still is no commonly agreed cure for acne. And even what causes acne is still being hotly debated ...

So What Actually Causes Acne ?

What seems to be agreed upon is that one of the main causes of acne may be a hormonal imbalance - a surge of excess male hormones in the body seems to be at least one of the many possible causes of acne.

That said, questions like "why a hormonal imbalance cause back acne not some other form of acne ? " are not yet very easy to answer. Hormonal imbalance may cause acne alright, but the body seems to somehow decide where acne should appear and this process is not very clearly understood.

But that definitely does not mean that there is no way to cure acne for good.

    Acne Cures

Many people are coming around to believing that the liver plays a very key role in the prevention and control of acne. If your liver is performing at its peak efficiency, then chances are that you do not have acne. If, however, your liver is nowhere close to its peak performance and your diet contains a lot of processed foods, dairy and junk foods then you most possibly have acne.

To get rid of acne for good, you might want to restore your liver to its original health, quit junk foods and dairy products and eat lots of fresh fruits, raw vegetables and nuts - all preferably organic.

    Curing Acne Scars

Curing acne is one thing, getting rid of acne scars is another. Acne scars are not very easy to get rid of. But that does not mean there is no hope. You might want to see Getting Rid of Acne Scars for more on this.

    Hair Removal with Threading

Unwanted hair growth is a problem for a great number of people. Hair on areas like the hand, foot and face is normally not desired by men and women. In this case people often go for various hair removal methods.

There are temporary and permanent methods of hair removal. Threading is an old method of hair removal. This method involves the use of thread for removing hair. The practitioner rolls twisted cotton threads over untidy hairlines and plucks the unwanted hair. Eyebrow threading technique is healthy since it does not result in in-grown hair.

Threading, inspite of being an ancient method, is still being used in some parts of the world like India and the Middle East. In Arabic this method is called khite whereas in Egypt it is called fatlah. In some western countries also there are beauty saloons that use threading hair removal method. Threading is used to remove hair from entire face including eyebrows, upper lip, chin, sideburns and cheeks. Sometimes it is also used to remove hair from belly button to pubic bone and toes.

While using threading to remove hair from the face, the practitioner holds one end of the cotton thread in his/her teeth and the other in left hand. While doing this the middle part of the cotton is looped through the index and middle fingers of the right hand and the loop is used to trap unwanted hair and pull them from the skin. In some cases some devices can be used to hold the thread during the procedure. Eyebrow threading is a delicate process and requires a professional to perform it. If not done properly, threading scan result in pain and can also cause hurt to the skin.

Eyebrow threading technique is an inexpensive method of hair removal. The process is done comparative fast and is less painful compared to plucking, another hair removal method. The effect of this method of hair removal lasts up to two to four weeks. This method can be used even on sensitive skin. Threading also takes less time to perform. To get both brows done it takes around 15 minutes. It is a safe method since it does not involve use of any chemical.

One disadvantage of threading is that it takes an expert to perform this treatment. It is also hard to find a practitioner of this method. The method can have some side effects like folliculitis, a bacterial infection, skin reddening and changes in skin pigment.Another problem with threading is that it can be performed only on flat surfaces and it is difficult to be done on body areas that are not flat like the bikini line and the knee.

Important factors are the ingredients. The ingredients to stay away from are the following.
Also known as artificial anti aging creams, these products contain unnatural peptides, Vitamin A or retina-A, Alph-Lipoic Acid, and Hyaluronic Acid or DMAE. These products are possible factors for skin rashes when used onto the wrong skin type, and worse, they could be the very sources of skin cancer and other skin abnormalities.

Anti-aging has become one of the great concerns of many, since nobody wants to look old anyway. Perhaps, one may agree to the thought of getting older and wiser. And perhaps, as one gets wiser too, considering new ways to combat this aging dilemma could be a great idea.
As a cosmetics user, you are always open to two options: go artificial or go natural, but for the choice of safety and for the choice of receiving par benefits, going natural would be the best option and always ask your online drugstore for additional advice.
